I am often asked what inspires me and I can only answer that is the heroic nature of man that fires my artistic spirit. Mankind is such a wonderful, mythical, heroic creature. This is the feeling I put into my work, the inspiration that guides me from the beginning to the end of all my pieces. I have always had a passion for sculpture. Growing up in Europe, I was free to explore the great museums and all their treasures. I was enthralled by the great masters of sculpture – Bernini, Michelangelo, and the ancient Greek and Roman masterpieces; but I was most inspired by Rodin, his ease of form and glowing, vital bronzes were awe-inspiring. As I create my pieces, I use all I learned from the masters and draw upon the inspiration of man's amazing journey on this earth. My sculpture instructor is DAVID OGLE , an exceptional talent and patient teacher from West Valley College in Saratoga, California. Patricia Kvek |
